Our day at the park

Oslo,
I had a magical day at your favorite park. Hunting for treasures that actually belonged to another birthday party at the park is just my kind of fun! Your aversion to wet t-shirts made me laugh, and you're pretty good at playing chase. I hope we can play together again soon.

At last we meet

Oslo,
At last we meet. We had to wait 8 long months before our parents paths crossed, but it was worth the wait.

May 05

Oslo,
This particular day was a warm summer day back in '05 (yes way back then).
Among other subjects, we talked about your father's love of his high school acquaintances. I hope you can one day have such meaningful contacts through your grade school years.

But don't grow your hair to your shoulders and die it a different color each week like your dad, I won't be into that.

Studio Visit, December 19 2006

Under all those stripes, is you. These are some photos of a visit your parents made to my studio in San Francisco on Belcher st. It was as cold inside as it was outside. And even though it is San Francisco it was still pretty cold. Thats why we all still have our coats and sweaters on. Except your dad for some reason. Maybe he's tougher than the cold. We had just eaten breakfast at Kate's Kitchen. As you look down a little farther you will see a picture of the first time you and Oslo ever, kind of, met.

Colorful Sunday Afternoon, circa 2005

Walking back from Golden Gate Park to our house on Fell Street, we stopped to take some photos in front of some of the colored walls we passed. Siena, you come from beautiful and kind parents.

Warm and Cold in San Francisco Circa 2005

These two photos don't relate except that they both have your parents in them. In the first one we all went to North Beach, I think for dinner. And we walked around for a while and then took this photo. You can't see me or Pepper but we are there. I am the one taking the photo and Pepper is standing beside me. If you stare real hard you might be able to see us reflecting in your parents eyes. Now, Siena, Ask your mother if she still has that sweater or jacket. By the time you can fit into them they will be back in style. Then you can show your friends this photo and tell them your mom wore it back in her San Francisco days. And I am sure you will wear it just as well as she did.

The second photo was taken on a Sunday afternoon in the Golden Gate Park. We went for a walk with some friends and just enjoyed the sun.

Stinson Beach, California July 17 2005

Tom and Michael were in town from Salt Lake City. So we all went to one of our favorite beaches. On this particular day it was gray and a tad windy but it was still warmer than San Francisco. At the entrance to the beach there is a little hamburger stand we like very much. It's not that the food is that good, although one of their orange cream shakes on a hot day might just be one of the best things on the planet, it's more that it feels like a reminder of the golden days of California. Even still it is a small beach town and the local kids hang out at the basketball court and eat, with the tourists, at the hamburger stand. Siena, I hope you get to visit this beach some day. And I hope that we are there in the sun with you. And just in case, by the time you see these photos, if you think your parents are dorks, when these photos were taken, they were a pretty cool couple.
